What I did with our intranet site was leave it using form authentication (for mixed mode access) and just uncommented the identity impersonate line. Added a userName="XXXX password="xxxxx" to the impersonate line. What it does is run the site using the users credentials and that user has access to the AD. Until I uncommented the identity impersonate line I was getting failures on the authentication line.

Mikeh - many thanks, sometimes easy solutions are right in front of our nose and we can’t see it.

My problem with Mixed Mode authentication is solved … for now. Thanks again to all.

I thought the UserName field in the Authentication Menu was supposed to take care of that, eliminating the need for a modification of the web.config?

I did too but until I did that it would always fail on Accessing LDAP and would return an error on Find all domains in network.

Assuming I install a new AD server and create users to be used for the authentication. Normally these users are in Domain Users group.

The question is: What “minimal” permissions need de AD users / groups to be set so they can authenticate on dnn site.

My problem is that administrator of AD is successfully authenticated on the portal, but normal users can’t
