Do all these red Scheduler Event Failure, Sheduler Exception and General Exception records in the site log matter? I've never had an installation that did not have them and have assumed they are normal.. but the usability side of me is now wondering why the log is full of them.

Here are typical examples:

Scheduler Event Failure
TYPE: DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler
EXCEPTION: Thread was being aborted.

Scheduler Exception
Message: System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted. at DotNetNuke.Services.Scheduling.DNNScheduling.ProcessGroup.Run(ScheduleHistoryItem objScheduleHistoryItem)

General Exception
Message: System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted. at DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchDataStore.StoreSearchItems(SearchItemInfoCollection SearchItems) at DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler.DoWork()

Thanks for any insights

Rob

^^^bump^^^

Am I the only one who has these messages in the Site Log? Do they matter?

Any comments are appreciated, Thank you.

I get all of them as well and have tried several different settings but have been unable to resolve them so far. I think that a new forum here called Common Exception and Errors should be started and  new thread started for each of the errors and we can contribute suggestions to each thread about how we reduced or resolved the errors.

I am struggling to find a good source of information about the errors that can be searched. I have noticed that this server is too overloaded now to search more than about 3 or 4 months of forum posts.

I found another thread somwhere in this mess where quite a few others were askign about the same errors. There was no answer for it there either, but at least i could see I wasn't alone with it.

I've since upgraded to 4.3.6 and have found that those errors have largely vanished. There are one or two new ones, but overall the event log is far cleaner. I recommend updating.

I'll try and do the upgrade then before I look into this further.

(I tried to upgrade on a test site but it all went pear shaped so still need to sort that out.)
