Hi guys.

To view a pic in Firefox I set this path
        http://localhost:1047/../../mysite/portals/0/mypic.jpg
but when I look at the pic properties in Firefox it states that the pic is resolved to here
        http://localhost:1047/mysite/portals/0/mypic.jpg
note the missing "/../../"

But when I view the page in Internet Explorer the link is resolved as
        http://localhost:1047/../../mysite/portals/0/mypic.jpg
and as a result the picture cannot be displayed/found.

To put it all another way, I can see the pics in one browser and not the other.

What am I doing wrong???

I'm expecting there is something like DotNetNuke.Portals.LocalURL or something like that but I better not speculate too far.

As always any help from you is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ray.

(I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, I did search but can't find the answer.)

I got it and it works now in both browsers...

DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.GetPortalSettings.HomeDirectory

This will return "/mysite/portals/0/"

...but that still leaves me stumped as to why when I created the links manually I had to add "/../../" for FireFox.
