I decide to do a complete install of the new DNN instead of upgrading so that there wouldn't be so many "bugs" in my system.  I put the new installation on the same server and everything was working GREAT, I changed my users to be forced to go to the new home page and then I got this error under users....   "Error: User Accounts is currently unavailable."

Well, I could not find ANY user table in sql express, so I thought I could delete some of the items that DNN requested the user fill in....  I started at the bottom, the first two (birthdates or something) came out JUST FINE...  HOWEVER, when i deleted the third one, my entire system CRASHED...  this is the only thing DNN will tell me....

An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

What happened?  how can I fix and how fast can I fix it????  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi there,

last time i had that error was when i imported ldap users. The info I imported was incomplete, missing username, or firstname. When looking at users, the site crashed.

The fix for me was to look with sql management studio, at the db, in the usertable. And fillout the missing items. This fixed my problem.

So perhaps u could restore the missing entries in the db.

Goodluck

The only problem there is that I can seem to find the user table...  granted I don't know what I am looking for....  but I have looked everywhere I know to look, and the SQL help files is about as useless as a tick on a hog...

I have looked at our server. In the database (DNNTEST for me) look at tables and then at dbo.Users In this table are all my users. So this is where I edit them etc. I am using the ms sql management studio browser to look at the db. Hope that this helps? GrtZ Sander
