Hi,

I got my DNN application with my GoDaddy hosting package and realized that is a pretty good one.

I created several Parent Portals to test the application. I added Aliases to them, but can't access them from an specific Domain Name.

I configured a domain name forwarding like this:

When you enter the following URL on any web browser: www.blablabla.com

it is automatically forwarded to: www.mysite.com/dotnetnuke

But, when you check the portal it landed to, is always the Host Portal.

What is wrong?

Cheers,

Pablo

Did you ever get this figured out, I am having the same problem.  however I can't even create a parent site.  I am also going through Godaddy... but I can only do it as a child portal.  If I forward and mask the domain name then the login does not work HELP!!!!

I haven't tried this but it sounds like if you are forwarding domains to a url, its the url that DNN 'sees' in any case. I prefer to adjust the DNS of my domains and configure the alias on my host. I don't know if godaddy allows this though.

Hi phr0ze

yes, I am using the forwarding functionality that GoDaddy provides.

So when I enter in the address box of any web browser, let's say:

www.pablo.com, the forwarding config will send the user to:

www.pablo.com/dotnetnuke

but the user still see on the address box: www.pablo.com

When you mentioned that you "prefer to adjust the DNS of my domains and configure the alias on my host".

What do you mean by that?

I created an alias within dotnetnuke for one of the portals that is telling DNN that this X portal is www.pablo.com

Thanks for your help in advance!

Pablo
