Having registered at ~20 DNN sites, I finally read the "Terms of Use" more closely. They appear to have been written by a good attorney, most likely from The Redmond Software Company. If you look closely hard coded into them is "consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in King County, Washington, U.S.A." I live 100 meters north of the King County line, and my post office is in King County. When I first saw this I wondered what "magic" DNN had used to figure this out.
For those of you who don't live in Wasgington State, like I do, this might cause you some level of dificulty and extra cost! It could also cause your trial action to get kicked out of court, since the King County Court might wonder why it should be spending its money on this case, where no party or action occurred anywhere near King County.
I checked several major DNN web sites outside of the country and nobody seems to have changed this phrase. I suggest that DNN consider changing this phrase in a future update to a more generic statement.
BTW I was considering offering sub-portals as a service on a DNN site, and the Terms and Privacy appear to be shared resources which makes tweaking them to more exciting. The previous comments about editing must apply to eariler version of DNN. In 4.3.6 it is a simple edit using the Language Editor and/or the Rich Text Editor.
