I'm new to DNN.  I downloaded the software and installed  on my laptop with SQL Server Xpress 2005, as my "development environment".  I've played around sufficiently with a proof of concept to determine that I wish to use DNN as the framework for a new portal I'm building.

Is there anyway to easily deploy what I've been working with in my development environment to what will become my production environment?  My production environment will be Windows 2003, IIS 6.0, and SQL Server 2000?

THanks.

I believe you cannot go from SQL2005 express to SQL2000.

You can not take a database created in 2005 and attach or restore it to 2000.  SQL 2000 knows nothing of the new structures and features of 2005.

You can script the schema and run that script on 2000 to create a new database as long as you didn't use any 2005 specific features. If you have data then you will need to export the data from 2005 and import it into 2000. If you need to support 2000 then you should not develop on a 2005 database.
