My aim is to put on the links page the link to the forum and have it generate in the content pane.  What's the link on just localhost for the forums module and how do i make it generate in the content pane?

I have no idea what you are even asking. I think you need to spend some time reviewing how to use DotNetNuke in general. You should spend sometime viewing the general forums first.

I would like a link that navigates internally to the Forum Module to generate in the Content Pane instead of always in one of the panes.  Is this possible?

Again, I feel that there is a confusion here w/ an understanding of DotNetNuke.

You can easily make a link "internal" by just having Default.aspx?tabid=xxx or the friendly URL way. The Forum module will always display in whatever content pane you have placed it in when you placed the module on a page.
