Help - I am trying to work out how to update and compile my own modules and modify core but keep on getting this sort of version issue with primarily the countrylistbox dll - what am I doing wrong??? This is saying you are trying to run a module built referencing a newer version than the dnn install you are running on.  I've seen this when I develop on my local machine using DNN4.3.5 and then try to install the module on a server running anything lower than that DNN4.3.3, for example.  You need to make sure the reference used in development is the same or lower than the server install.  If you've recently updated your environment, you may want to remove the dnn references in your project and readd them.  That will usually do the trick.

Also, check the build dates on your development and production environments for the dotnetnuke.dll and countrylistbox.dll  You may find a discrepancy.

I had installed 4.3.5 on my development machine and my production machine had 4.3.4 installed by the host provider and I then went through the tedious task of  FTP-ing the 4.3.5 upgrade

How do I upgrade the references - by this you mean to the dll references I assume -
I must admit I am finding the Visual Studio 2005 issues a bit of a headache and currently to modify core I am having to switch between two project - one for core, source code etc - set up using vladan's blank module

Unfortunately this will not actually run and throws me an unauthorised to view this page error which I  must admit I find a little perplexing as I have looked at IIS and .net settings a number of times without any success


Because it wont run I have to switch to a normal install to run the code and test etc - after copying the dll file over of course

Further more the small changes seem to have an disproporionate influence on the dll size

( I do realise this could be done a little more elegantly and without reproducing so much code but I think these other issues are more pressing! Its good enough to use to get other work done!!)

File size for dotnetnuke.dll goes from 776KB to 856KB  - 80KB over 10% !!!! - for just under 50 lines of code

and before you ask:

 I am pretty sure it isnt compiling with debug info in as every time I try to run it asks if I want to enable debugging - though I must admit I did find some pdb files in the directory so maybe I am fooling myself!! - but surely the release .config isn't loaded with debug directives. And anyway If I try to debus through the affected procedures it won't left me.
