Hi all,

My first post here - so please - be gentle ;)

I'm messing around with DNN (4.0.3) - and can't seem to add a menu item without an associate page. What I'm looking for is a "placeholder" (or "parent/root" menu item) which itself has no content but has sub-menu items.

i.e. Contact

      ---> Me

      ---> A.N.Other

      ---> Joe Bloggs

There is no need for a page to be associated with the "Contact" item - it's just placeholder for the child menu items.

Is this possible with the standard menu control?

Thanks,

Derek

Yes you can do this.....

1. Create the page

2. Choose the page settings > Advanced Settings > other settings.

choose link type: page and select the page you want the page to redirect to.

Thanks for the reply - but I think I've not explained clearly enough. I don't want the "Contact" menu item to point anywhere - I just want it to be there so I can navigate to the child menus. Like the "Admin" and "Host" menus - you can't click on them but there have lots of sub-menu items to click on.

Thanks,
Derek

Go to the "Page Settings" for the Contact page, expand the "Advanced Settings" section and you will see a "Disabled" checkbox.  Place a checkmark in the "Disabled" checkbox and then click Update.  That will get you where you want to go.
