I am attempting to send the moderation and notification emails from within the forum. They are not sending. I can use the Host Settings / Test to test the email configuration on this DNN instance, and it DOES send the email notification to the correct address. I am using the same email address for both the Forum Notification "from" address, the host account and the admin account for this portal.

My email host requires authentication, and I am using it for the host account.

DNN version 3.2.2, Forum 3.2.8

I haven't ever gotten an email from the Forum system.

Where should I start looking to debug this issue?

There are small conflicts betweeen this core dnn version and that forum version. This is because the Membership/Profile/Roles API changed in the core dnn version. The forums version 3.20.8 needs DNN version 3.3.x to work properly for notifications.
