Hi to all,

is possible to develop a custom profile provider for DNN which work with database tables?

Can i do it?

Um, well.  Yes.  But the default install of DNN uses DB tables for it's profile storage. 

There is documentation about rolling your own Membership and Profile Providers which you can grab from the download site. 

Are you saying that you have *another* DB outside of DNN that contains profile information you want to use in your DNN profile?  Again, just implement a new provider to do so and you'll be set.

Hi and thanks for response. Yes i want manage profile information on external db where i have tables such User, UserAddress, ecc... I know that i must build a new Custom Profile Provider but i don't known how do it.
There are some examples?
Please help me. thanks

There are two documents ( I believe) that deal with Membership (Authentication/Authorization) and the other with profiling.  They both give examples on what needs to be implemented to create a new provider.

Hi.

If you have an abstract Profile Provider (as well as a Membership or Role Provider) you can use it with your DotNetNuke site. Just modify your web.config file to use a custom provider or use another connection string with an existing provider. I tested this approach with ASP.NET providers for MySQL.  The syntax for declaring this provider is the same as for the default one.
