Hello,
using my DNN 4.3.5 host, I enabled site logging for all portals both configuring  Site Log History (Days), for example setting it to 365 days, for portals and also under advanced host settings / other settings... but when I recall any of the site log reports I don't get any result, as if recording was disabled (btw, recording to SQL database).

Looking at log viewer I found some errors, but it seems not to always generate errors. For example:

AssemblyVersion: -1
PortalID: -1
PortalName:
UserID: -1
UserName:
ActiveTabID: -1
ActiveTabName:
RawURL:
AbsoluteURL:
AbsoluteURLReferrer:
UserAgent:
DefaultDataProvider:
ExceptionGUID:
InnerException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
FileName:
FileLineNumber: -1
FileColumnNumber: -1
Method:
StackTrace:
Message: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Services.Localization.Localization.GetString(String name) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Reports.ReportsController.GetReport(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Reports.ReportsController.GetSearchItems(ModuleInfo ModInfo) at DotNetNuke.Services.Search.ModuleIndexer.GetSearchIndexItems(Int32 PortalID)

I'm testing some localization modules such as Delisoft and Apollo's ones, maybe the error depends on some localization issue? Anyway I can't get statistics even for portals where I don't have any localized module instance installed.
Thanks for any help!

Some more info: the logs are not being written to database, e.g. the SiteLog table is empty.
If I switch the host to disk storage, instead of database, when I access site log under portal admin I always get a message stating the log feature is disabled - but I configured limits for all portals -.

What can I do? Anoybody can help?

thanks.

trapias,

Just got finished taking a look at the code-behind.  Looks to be some logic errors when setting up to write to a file system. (if you log to a file, it will always say that it is disabled).  I have found that by setting the "Host Site Log" setting  days to "-1" and the type to database, then whatever you put in the Admin Site setting (in the advanced section) shows up correctly.

The code certainly needs fixing by someone though...

in the "Admin/log/SiteLog.ascx.vb" around file line 179...
