Hi

Is there any way this can happen....?

I want to set up a special user account, give them appropriate permissions etc...

When they log in, all they are able to access is admin/user accounts and admin/vendors.
That way I can get a member of staff to manage the user accounts without them playing around with other functionality.

- Obviously I can create a new page here with restricted permissions, but I can't add admin/user accounts and admin/vendors as a module to a page.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes there is. Dave Buckner developped a Control Panel module that allows you to do exactly what you're explaining. You can find it here. You need to register I think but that's not too high a price to pay for this module.

Hope it fits your needs

Leif

Thanks Leif

I tried this and it looks excellent. However the combination of DNN 4.3.5 and TRTControlPanel 1.6.0.0 does not seem to work. I endeding up having to do a restore of my DNN application. I have sent a bug report to the author and will try this again when the issues are fixed.

Any further suggestions?

Cheers

OK I found this (looks good but costs):

http://www.workcontrol.com/Products/UserManager/tabid/59/Default.aspx

and this which does not work on 4.x
http://www.effority.net/Default.aspx?tabid=58

I guess what would be good would be a module that gives you the ability to place any module from the admin menu onto a page. It would be useful to allow SOME users to assign security roles, send bulk mails etc as well. In fact it would be super nice if that was actually part of the framework itself.

Keep those suggestions coming please...!

Cheers

Making the core admin modules behave more like regular modules so that you can assign security roles to them is on the road map for a future version.
