Hello,

Has anyone worked with the new copy page functions in v4.3.5? I have just been experimenting with them and appear to have found a bug, can anyone confirm if this is correct or if it has already been reported?

From the copy functions:

New (supposed to copy the modules from a page with no content) - copies the modules from the page and the content (Just as the copy function)
Copy (copies the modules and the content from a page)
Reference (creates a shadow of the modules)

Is there a problem with the New function?

Is it fixed in 4.3.6?

Thanks,

Lee

Hi Lee.
I did use them but didn't notice any bugs.
What is the problem you are experiencing...?

Hello Timo,

It's the 'New' option: - according to the help ? it states that it is supposed to copy the page and modules without copying the content.

When I select 'New' it copies all of the content - the function behaves exactly the same as the 'Copy' option

Can you confirm this for me?

Thanks,

Hello Lee

I checked on 3.3.5 and 4.3.5 (test localhost) install.
I copied the standard home page and the new function copies the modules without the current content.
(e.g. "Click here to enter your content")
So I cannot confirm the error.... (sorry).
I'm using local IIS5 on a win2k machine and SQL server 2000.

I tries with these modules on the page:
    html
    links
    media

Did you try on different DNN installs?

Hello Timo,

Thanks for confirming this for me. I was testing this on an installation that was upgraded from 4.3.4 to 4.3.5 which had the bug. I have just tested it on a fresh installation of 4.3.5 and the New copy function works correctly.

Perhaps other users who have upgraded and are reading this should test this out on their installation...

Thanks,

Lee
