Hi,

My site loads extremely slow when it hasn't been used for a specific time period.  Is there a workaround for this if your DNN site doesn't get used a lot?

I read somewhere that either using software or a service to regularly ping the site will keep it in memory.  Is this true?

Anyone have any other ideas?

Many thanks

Yes, it is true.  Use something like http://www.host-tracker.com to monitor your site every 15 minutes.

That is what I do.

Thanks for the idea John, can you please tell me, do we need to check a number of pages in our portal?  or just the homepage to keep the site running at full speed?

I've just had a look at host-tracker.com and it appears to be offline?

Cheers,

Reuben.

I use ultimahosts.net to host all three of my DNN sites. The DotNetPanel will check the sites availablity in the Scheduled Tasks. It's really simple to set up and no extra software needed. I see you were looking for a host as well. They also have really good UK and US support people and really good packages. Check them out. With 90 day money back guarantee and free trial account you can't lose.

Looks like they have a configuration issue with the www., try this  http://host-tracker.com/

I also monitor pages that have large modules, one for my Catalook e-commerce, and one for Active Forums to keep those programs running at full speed.
