I've been tasked with evaluating Active Directory Federation Services for our network.  We have quite a few partners and we'd like to use ADFS so they can access all of our web applications without having to sign on after their initial sign-on in their domain.  I have a plan for all of our other applications, now I'm here looking at how our DNN installation will be affected.  My suspicion is that it will be greatly affected.

My question is:  Has anyone tried to use ADFS with DNN yet?

I haven't used it myself, but since ADFS is entirely web-based, and is designed specifically for IE, I would think it would work fine with DNN.  That is, as long as DNN can reach a server to authenticate to...

Well, ADFS is definitely not designed specifically for IE.  I guess my question would be better stated as:

If I use DNN with the Active Directory module, does anyone have experience with trying to get that configuration working without code modifications?

I am wanting to do the exact same thing.  I want to have several child portals in DNN as well as several other web apps all have single sign on with ADFS.  I was hoping adfs would replace the AD module in DNN, but it sounds like that is not the case?  Please post if you figure something out about this.  I am just starting the exploration process and I am brand new to AD.

Did you ever get anywhere with this? ADFS has some interesting possibilities for us too.

btw - I'm not sure ADFS belongs in this forum as you are authenticating users from another domain. As I understand ADFS it would have little, if anything, to do with the DNN AD module (apart from the "Active Directory" being two words of the ADFS acronym). Having said that, this thread is the only search hit I can find relating DNN and ADFS!
