I have installed 4.3.5 from the install file.  Several posts mention an authentication tab under the admin tab.  There is no authentication tab under the admin tab.  Is this only in the source version?

Under the pop-up Admin menu, the last item is Authentication.

Was this an upgrade of a previous version?  I don't have it under my Admin menu, but that is because I had the TTTAuthentication module installed at one time, and it didn't upgrade correctly.  Still haven't figured out how to fix that...

I too have upgraded (3.1.1 > 4.4.1) with the TAM authentication module installed and now I do not have the Authentication tab under "Admin."  I've made changes to the web.config for enabling AD authentication, but have no tab to configure it.  Is there a way to uninstall tam's module and reinstall the new core module without going through a complete upgrade again?

You will need to create a new page called Authentication, and put it anywhere you want.  Make it an administrator-only page and that should work.  If you did an upgrade, that old page should still be there, you might have to use the Admin->Pages menu to find it.

It won't be in the right location, but at least you'll be able to use it!
