Dan,

That fix does not require a dotnetnuke core change, it's actually an issue with the stored procedure. You would make the edit in the sql server database. The new release should be out at about the same timeframe as 3.2, which is targetted for early November.

You can see the roadmap for the UDT project here

Cathal

Thanks!  That does answer some questions about how DNN is designed, and I'll have to look into doing that patch now that I know where to put it!

Dan,

thank you for contributing. First let me assure, I do not expect you to do any recompilation ( I myself do not even know, how to spell it), as SQL scripts can easily been executed by entering them into the text box, that is astonishingly displayed, if you activate "SQL" in "host" menu, activating "execute script" and hitting (more or less by accident) the link "run".

// due to complaints from customers (and maybe the FBI, secret service and whoever is concerned:) I request all Americans not to continue reading, but switch over to www.disney.com to prevent harm of your soul! ... //

About your solutions:

1. gammacon.UserDefinedTable is an enhancement of the core version, that comes with a German translation included (that does not harm anything, believe me) and has been developed by German developers (I apologize), but it will work like any core module and there is a script available, to update your current UDT data, so you can continue to work as usual.

2. Unfortunately, the new core module will rely on the gammacon enhancements, because there are the same people responsible for it (and believe me, although world war 2 has been finished only 60 years ago, you can trust our promises). There will be upgrade paths as well for the core module as for the gammacon.UDT  (btw: that's part of the German's infiltration strategy - but please, do not tell anybody). As our mole in the core team told you, we plan to release the next version in the first half of Nov. 2005 - but be sure, whatever you decide: we will get you!!!!

Cool!  That module did look like it had some really neat features, and I'm glad it is becoming part of the Core System.  While I originally didn't have any qualms about using a foreign-written module, your inadvertant slip of world domination plans do concern me a little.  But then, isn't everyone out to get me?

Since the revelation of how to apply that patch is quite doable, I think I'll take the route of trying to fix the current system and wait for the 3.2 release.  Which, I'm sure will have the correct upgrade script included...  If you say it'll work, I'll have to believe you... You told me I had to!

Thanks again!

How would the SQL Command Look to insert the fix:

ORDER BY {objectQualifier}UserDefinedRows.UserDefinedRowID
to sproc  GetUserDefinedRows

Or is there something else?

I have the same Issue.

cluworks, the 3.2 version has been released since this thread began - you can download it at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?tabid=878 , it will fix this issue. If you don't want to alter your UDT module (the 3.2 version does look slightly different to the old version due to all the new functionality), you can still download it, and get the updated stored procedure text.

Could I just use the SQL Insert Statement? I have a few other mods that I don't know if they will work with the new version.

Can you give me the SQL Statement?

Thx
