Hello,
(Sorry for my English...)
After failure of DotNetNuke install (with DotNetNuke_4.3.5_Install.zip; described in another thread), I decided to use DotNetNuke_4.3.5_Upgrade.zip. I unzipped the file with overwrite option. When I tried localhost/DotNetNuke I receive:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error
The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )
ERROR: Could not connect to database.
The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

(My DotNetNuke_4.3.5_Install.zip setup failed beacuse of database connection error. My database looks fine and my connection strings are fine. I haven't get reply to my post. I haven't found solution in Internet.)

Please help to install DotNetNuke.
Thanks a lot!

Your english is just fine. Your problem is widespread. I can't be sure what your initial problem was with the "Install" version as you don't have an error message. If it was a database connection problem then at least post your connection string. Sometimes with the full install things could be set up properly but not install due to timeout constraints.

As for the "Upgrade" version you should not unzip and overwrite unless you're doing an actual upgrade. I would suggest installing a fresh uprgrade installation with a new database then adding the required modules as you need them.

The database error you received is generally from trying to run an installation again after once failed. Probably from overwriting your initial failed installation.

Good luck,

Mike
