Hi, I am creating a new website for our company. We want to create 3 different sub sites for each of the 3 different product lines. I am wondering which way is best for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) having the site names like this http://www.mywebsite.com/product1 or http://www.product1.mywebsite.com ???

If the second way http://www.product1.mywebsite.com is the better way to set it up, do I set up the subportal the same as I would the first domain (http://www.mywebsite.com/product1)? I had an error when I tried setting up a test subdomain like this: http://www.product1.mywebsite.com.

Thank you for your help!
