Disregard... didn't realize I needed to use dnnadmin or dnnhost as pswd

Tigris, I may be able to help. What are you using for a firewall? If it's Zonealarm....It will load in the browser but wont let you log in. I tryed to configure it to work but gave up and found it easier to just use Microsoft's built in firewall while testing my DNN 4.3.5 solution. If this isn't the case and you updated from a previous version of DNN, then it might be the "machineKey validationKey=" entre in the web.config file. I think you have to copy your key from your original web.config file. Hope this helps but if it doesn't you need to provide more info on your install.

Ok, I figured it out... I feel like a nimrod for not paying attentiomn to the warning written in red on the welcome page where it says to enter a valid email for the admin and host user acct.  Seems that part of registration is sendng email to the amin/host, and if there is no valid email for such, the process can't complete and thus, an error message appears. Aslo need to configure SMPT correctly.
