Hello,

I am trying to install dotnetnuke to networksolutions hosting account. I have extracted the files, and set the site up through IIS (I choose under home directory, "A redirection to a URL", then I put my sites ftp address...ftp://ftp.mysite.com/dotnetnuke/). I also made sure its using the 2.0 framework. But now I am getting the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Configuration Error

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

Any help or tips would be great, thanks!

you need to plaxe DotNetNuke into the root of your web site or a virtual directory in IIS.

Thats a little bit of help, thanks.

But how do I setup the home directory in IIS? Because the folder is not on my computer, its on their server. Would I do a "redirect to a URL" or a "share located on another computer"?

Thanks in advanced this is a little confusing

the folder MUST be on the server, but it must be an application residing in it, this is only possible for web sites or virtual folder. if your are not placing DNN into the root of your web, right click the web in iis management and create a virtual directory.

Ok, but how do I "find" or connect to my host providers server through IIS?
