I have a site running off of asp that would like to send people to a DNN installation and have their accounts auto created and permissions granted using the url string. The accounts and permissions would be based on their information from the asp site.

Can this be done?

This is usually called "single sign on", and there are several discussions about it and solutions mentioned in these forums. I am looking for exactly the same kind of solution (ASP site->DNN autologin), and I haven't found anything quick and easy yet, however these links may be helpful:
