My site is currently running on 4.3.4 SOURCE version with 2 portals, and several custom modules among those are custom sign in and custom register module.  I want to upgrade to the just released 4.3.6 version.

Some of the custom modules on my site are a customized version of DNN (4.3.4)  modules.  I need to be able to refer to the DNN source code to see how a certain module works.

Based on this needs, my questions are:

Which package, UPGRADE.zip or SOURCE.zip, should I use for upgrading my site to 4.3.6?

Should I just unzip the DotNetNuke 4.3.6 UPGRADE.zip over  the top of my 4.3.4 SOURCE?
Should I unzip the 4.3.6 version of SOURCE.zip over the top of my current 4.3.4 SOURCE?

What's the Difference between the UPGRADE and the SOURCE?

I have read the Installation / Upgrade Instructions , but could not find an applicable answer for my case

Thanks in advance for a recommendation.

With version 4.x a lot souce is still delivered with the app in the regular install since it can be dyanmically compiled in place.  But if you are going to be modifying the source code then you should use the source package.

The main difference on the upgrade package is that it does not include the extra modules in the download.
