There is an extra line space or line break at the bottom ov the article. Can this be removed? It looks bad in the container.

sometimes the rich text editor adds paragraph marks, or divs, to the text, which will cause a space. You can fix that by targeting some specific css to the announcements.... (you can point to your own css class from the template that is being used)

Hi, how do you target some specific css to the announcements?

You might want to check the actual text you put in the announcement itself.  If you use the "rich text editor" it will put a <p>blahblah</p> around everything you enter which causes a "paragraph space" at the end of our annoucement.
