Good day,

I am new to using the DNN and the VWD starter kit it provides, but I have a question that I can seem to find the answer for - I must be missing something.  Typically, I build locally within an intranet - develop content and code, test, QA.  Once all is good, we would then deploy the web site and related DB and its content to a internet host provider.  I am trying to see an example or description of how this is intended to work with DNN.  While its nice to edit web site directly, I have an old one I want to keep until I have a completely new version (content and code) ready and tested before I wipe out the old one and replace with new implementation.  Note: the old web site is not a DNN based implementation.  Also, for quality control reasons, even if I did have a prior version of DNN, I would want to completely test the new code/content before it is deployed for the world to see.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I have the same question... What is the recommended way to develop a dotNetNuke site and get it online. I have started development with VS2005, everything is works fine and now I have troubles to deploy the site. I see only "Service unavailable" in the browser, but I don't see the reason for that. Is there any log file or something?

cheers,
Georg
