I performed a fresh install of 4.3.5 and am receiving this error message when I try to open a pdf file:

"There was an error opening this document.  The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

The error occurs whether I attempt to open it in a browser or download it and open it.

I have seen messages indicating this is the result of a bug in Acrobat Reader and that I need to update to the latest version (7.0.8), yet I don't receive this error when veiwing or downloading pdf files fom a 4.0.2 instance i am running.  I still receive the error after updating and only on my 4.3.5 instance.

I have seen suggestions that the the 'Display PDF in Browser' option needs to be unchecked.  Both settings still yield the error.  I performed reboots.

I've also seen an suggestion to adjust a cache setting in the web.config file.  I tried this and still receive the error.

Any ideas?  My docs section is the most utilized portion of my site and I have verything in .pdf format.  Is there a 3rd party simple docs module similar to the included module.  I don't need the complex features of the most of the ones I seen on Snowcovered.  Can I uninstall and revert to previous version of the docs module?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The advice that I've been given on this issue is to use the "synchronize" command in the file manager to make DNN update it's stored file sizes.  Can you give that a try?

IN DNN V 4.3.5, there are issues regarding file syncronization and a security related one as well, therefore I recoomend to upgrade ASAP. Afterwards do a recursive file sync in the file manager and check again.
