This is slightly off-topic, but one directly useful to many of us who use dnn on hosted sites. I am asking here as info seems hard to find:

Has anyone gotten a handle on how to restore a sql server db via SQL Server Integration Services? I have been googling around and i guess i am not using the proper key to search with as i am not finding anything useful.. Any links, tips or other suggestions would be awesome, thanks, drew..

Maybe i am just overthinking this. I just prefer to restore db's the old-fashion way, using the restore function, imagine that? I am just seeing lots of hints that you can use SSIS to do it and not have to bother the fine folks who host your site. I just have always avoided DTS like the plague. One bak file, one restore, just too simple.

I own an MSDN subscription and it just doesn't make sense to downgrade to the express version to attempt this. I ran thru a test of the import/export in my sql studio management studio and saw no evidence of a full restore, only a Select All for tables.. which surely ain't enough.

I have never truly understand why we cannot restore a db if we have ownership rights to it. That one eludes me logically.
