To home it may concern.

We are trying to work with the MALTA locale (mt-MT) but somehow the moment we try and even insert the locale in the languages section in the HOST menu, and try and then we click on HOME and change language to Malti - everything hangs and the site does not load ever again. So we have to restore the site to its previous state before we can access it again. Now that seems very strange since with most of the locales it seems to work flawlessly.

Does anyone have any suggestions please because I think we have exhausted the possibilities we know about to solve this and we are literally in dire straits.

Thank you!

Fortian

HI,

thank you for askijg but unfortunately no. The issues still exists and the only way we are going round it is having to tedeously creat two websites which is the dirtiest solution we found so far.

Have you got any updates on this?

Well, I think you have a point here. I have tried it and as you pointed the app hanged! But I think this is an ASP.NET issue since it only happens with this language. If you look on this page (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.globalization.cultureinfo.aspx) or on the vs.net help you will see that mt-MT is not listed as a valid language. So I think the problem should came from here. I also looked on the asp.net 1.1 version and this language was not listed neither and on DNN 3x Malta is not displayed on the list. Will try a bit more and let you know

Something strange is going on here: I created a very simple web app and if I put this line on web.config:

< globalization requestEncoding="utf-8" responseEncoding="utf-8" culture="mt-MT" uiCulture="mt" / >

I get a nice error:

Parser Error Message: The <globalization> tag contains an invalid value for the 'uiCulture' attribute.

At some point in DNN we try to do:

            Set(ByVal Value As CultureInfo)
                Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = PageCulture
                Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = PageCulture
            End Set

So maybe this is causing this problem...
