Hi, I try to upgrade my 4.03 to 4.3.6, I think I got the web.config right and the machine key, connection string.

but when try to access the default page, got error below, how to fix this? Thanks...

I've got the same problem.  3.2.2 > 4.3.7

call /install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade directly

Thanks for the suggestion Leupold.

If I try to open the site with a URL to the root http://localhost/DNN437 things churn a bit and I end up on this URL with the error above:
http://localhost/DNN437/Install/Install.aspx?mode=Install

If I now update the URL to the one below and hit enter, the error stays and there is no progress
http://localhost/DNN437/Install/Install.aspx?mode=upgrade%20directly

If I touch my web.config and put in this URL, http://localhost/DNN437/Install/Install.aspx?mode=upgrade%20directly
things churn a bit and I end up on this initial URL with the same error above:
http://localhost/DNN437/Install/Install.aspx?mode=Install

Any idea what may be going on?

this looks like a more severe issue, but I have no clue, ahy it is happening. did you use new web.config?
