this looks like an issue with your portal settings.

Having the exact same failure here, also after installing a fresh DNN 4.3.6 instance on my server. However, at installation I already received the message below, after all modules and databases had been created successfully. So database settings and file permissions seem fine. Hopefully someone could help?

Finally solved my issue. Upon closer look, the installation did actually not complete and stopped after trying to install the Repsoitory Module. So no Portal was created by the installer. Emptied my Database, removed the DNN folder, uploaded the DNN folder fresh, removed the Repository module and started the Installer. All was fine now and the site seems to work fine.
