You will find the Presstopia forums much easier to work with compared to the core forums module available here. But with either choice, you need to log in as host (use login name: host) and make your way to the Host --> Module Definitions menu selection. You need to click on 'Upload New Module' and go through the dialogue and upload the module .zip file.

For example, the filename is PTForum.01.02.00.zip . And you can download it free here:
http://www.presstopia.com/dnn/Default.aspx?tabid=159

If successful, you will see a message at the bottom of the screen indicating so.

Then make your way to the Admin --> Pages menu, add a new page, and on this new page use the top-bar control menu to add a module (select PTForums) onto the Content Pane of that page.

That's it. It'll be up and running.

Thanks,
Travis

Well I was able to get it installed and added to a new page, and I am a lot closer than I was before, however... Instead of the forum showing up I see an error that says:

An error has occurred.
Error: PTForum is currently unavailable.

Any ideas what I can do to correct this?

I read what you wrote, and it seems you did everything correctly, so it made me curious. So I installed PressTopia forums (current DNN4 version) onto a fresh install of DNN 4.3.7 (just as you) ... and it is definitely not behaving normally. That is to say, the current version of Presstopia forums is not working properly on a fresh install of DNN 4.3.7 . I think you may have helped to discover a problem here with this recent release of DNN. Just wanted to let you know that I am contacting PressTopia now to see if this issue can be addressed. (I am a PressTopia paid subscriber.) Thanks!!

P.S. Could you please send the entire text of the error message you receive (copy/paste) into an email and send it to admin@common man computing.c o m ? Thanks.

Edit: After about 30 minutes, the DNN site stopped giving me errors and I was able to install PTForums v1.2.0 here:
