I'm new to dnn so I'm sure I'll make plenty of decisions that computers can't understand.  I'm glad you finally got it working.  Now it's time for the real fun to begin.

WOW, I finally manually installed Godaddy 4.3.7 (install version) on my GoDaddy Shared Hosting site in it's own directory off the root.

To upgrade a site you would normally extract the new version's install zip (or upgrade zip if you did not wish to upgrade modules) into the same directory as the existing install.  This way no porting of content is necessary.  You then just run the site and it upgrades itself in place.  Of course you should back up your database and physical files first.

Is there a reason you created a separate site?
