hi, I have a site have a referral module, now I got that module source code, and I download the whole site to my local use vs 2005 and try to modify it.  I added the vb source code to my desktopmodules and my referal folder but I can't debug, how to debug and modify and distribue? Please help...

Are you using the internal Cassini web browser?  If you are you should either do the following.

1) Change the project so it does not use dynamic ports (use the same port all the time).  You then need to add the URL with the port to the portalAliases table.

2) Add the following key to the web.config <add key="UsePortNumber" value="True"/>.

Thanks for the help.

so just put all the control's vb code into desktopmodules/my module? if pass debug, how to update the production? copy the .vb code into the same directory in production?

I added the use port node to web config, but still won't stop at the breakpoint. I use vs 2005 to open http://localhost(which is my web project), but how to debug? Please help...

1) Are you running the application using the built in web servers or IIS?

2) What URL shows in the browser when the applications is running?

3) What entries are in you PortalAlias tables?
