Hey Guys!

We are planning on applying the AD module to an Intranet, however I am new to DNN and AD, so my task right now is to find out more how it works and how the integration could be done. The last update for the Intranet was with DNN 3.2.2. What version should I upgrade to, to make sure that the AD integration works without too much trouble? And also, I am trying to figure out if the module supports SingleSignOn? I really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

SSO is supported (That's one of the main attractions of it). If you are not using impersonation, then the latest version of DNN should work reasonably well for you. We are using 4.3.5 and have some issues. If you are going to map AD groups to DNN roles, then be aware that nested groups is probably going to be an issue. (I am a member of group A, group A is a member of group B, however DNN does not figure out that not only am I a member of group A, but I am also a member of group B).

Well in theory you should be able to upgrade straight to 4.3.7 or 3.3.7 without any problems but I'd want to to a couple of test runs in a test enviroment first. Especially if it's a decent size site.

If you follow the instructions in this post single signon (automatic login) is pretty much turned on as soon as you uncomment the Authentication line in your web.config. However that only really works if the site is internal only. If people are going to be signing on externally then there's some adjustments that need to be done.
