Log In as Host - go to host/portals.. then you can export the portal contents... and it saves it as a file in the _default folder..

Then you can add the whole site to the other portal by using the portal wizard function which  I believe is located in 4.3.7 in the Admin / Wizard tab..

This will give you the option to add / merge / replace / the content on the child portal.

HOwever, if you only want some things - you'll need to export each module you want and then copy to the child folder and add them individually.

Either way - there's a bit of work involved but it's possible.

There are also modules where you can *share* content between portals but I'm not sure on their status for dnn 4
