The error shows up w/ email notifications in a couple scenarios. The ones I remember are: person attempted to subscribe to one they were already subscribed to. (This shows an FK Constraint db error in the logs, it happens because there was a bug that showed subscribed forums in the treeview 2x for each subscribed within a group) The other is if you are using this on multiple portals or multiple modules per portal, I have since been focusing very hard on these to make sure the module is much more multi-portal and multi instance per portal friendly.

Crispy, I wondered if you might suggest a workaround for the situation where there are multiple portals under one DotNetNuke installation, and the portals would like to use email notification. Is there a way to use email notification w/out errors like the one noted above, or will enabling email notification likely lead to errors in most scenarios?

If a problem can be solved, there's no use worrying about it.
If it can't be solved, worrying will do no good.

Until the next release, the forum module is really horrible in multi-portal situations when a user account is in more than one portal. (Based on dnn table Users and UserID column). The module does not play well either with multiple module instances (seperate moduleID's) on the same portal at this time either. I have spent weeks trying to get this all straight for the next release and I have it all worked out now, just have to handle two upgrade items so the transition is smooth for those upgrading.

The module is around one week or less from Beta. If anyone is interested in testing the beta please respond here. I would like that each person who tests to give some idea of what he/she will be focusing on so I can focus more on parts that are ignored. I am looking for a quick Beta period and would ask that all testers submit feedback ASAP as I have to push the module through the core release process now too. The next version will only run on 4.3.7 or greater for the beta.

I would welcome the chance to 'alpha' the next release of Forum Module. I have worked often with beta programs and I understand the risks. I would install the Forum Module beta on an installation where the user base is understanding of the beta situation. These portals are not-for-profit ventures where users have paid no fees and expectations are light.

This installation has three portals, each with one instance of Forum Module, all Forum Modules being used daily under light load (about 50 users in two portals each, and 150 users in the third portal).

I would also welcome any 'tests' you might like me to run under these conditions. For my part, I will enable email notification on all three portals, work extensively with RSS output, and run fresh tests working with multiple Forum Module instances w/in a single portal.
