NEWBIE: When I try to browse the default DNN site, which I can do on the server by typing http://localhost/Default.aspx, on my computer I get a redirect to http://localhost/localstart.asp on my local box. So, the page is sending this link. How can this be fixed? Is this in the web config somewhere?

When I try to browse on another computer that doesn't have IIS installed, you get Page Cannot Be Displayed. I am certain that it is because of the path that is being sent. Please advise.

Regarding configuration, it is setup as The Default Website. If I'm in IIS and I click default.aspx, it brings up the proper page. The permissions appear to be fine.

Server Details:

IIS 6.0 installed

Windows Server 2003

Thanks in advance for your time!

Christine

It's not a permission thing - it's because you're looking at localhost - when your network wants to look for IP address - I think some people modify their host file to be read across the network..but DNN has an inbuilt way to do this.

Go to Host/Portals - click the portal entry - down the bottom of that page you can add another alias - add your IP addres of your box which is serving the site.

I don't see these options. Where would I find them? When I log in with administrative rights to the site, it gives me Wizards, Sites, Users, File. etc. It doesn't sound like I am even looking at the same thing. When I right click on default.aspx in IIS it goes to what will be the site home page. When I scroll to the bottom of the page, nothing is there. Sorry for all the stupidity.

Thanks in advance for your time.

You need to be logged in as HOST to perform this function.
