3.3.7 difference 4.3.7

I have been using dotnetnuke for our intranet for a while now. We are currently using 3.3.7 (with asp.net 1.1). I am thinking of upgrading to asp.net 2.0 . Is there a difference or advantages from using 3.3.7 (asp.net 2) and 4.3.7 (apart from development). And are there any differences/problems in just upgrading form 3.3.7 to 4.3.7 just using the unzip process (normal upgrade) and changing settings in web.config

All my version 4.x installs have application restarts every few minutes.

Both versions are functional (nearly) identical and an upgrade works as described, but make sure, to remove all .vb source code files prior to installing the upgrade files. DNN 4.3.x has more frequent restarts and I expect, this will be solved in DNN 4.4.0 together with a number of other performance enhancements.

Also there is a known bug in IIS that causes app restarts, it's worth investigating in case this is your problem (I had this, installation of a hotfix on the server resolved it)....
