I am looking to work with other coders remotly and need a (FREE) way to do some sort of versioning, source control type of thing - the problem is most of the ones out there (like sourceforge) want it to be an opensource project before they will host the source control and I am not sure yet if this will be open source

Anybody got a good idea here or someething they use -

TIA

Hi Famdylan

I use WinCVS with Jalandii Igloo plugin for visual studio. Works fine in VS2005.

Thanks Ryan, I am collaborating with Dylan and we've gone with Codeplex after they accepted our project.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

Another alternative that I used in school a couple years ago was http://www.gotdotnet.com/ .  They allow you to have private projects with several collaborators.

As a note, we ended up junking them and going with subversion from my own mini server at home because they were undergoing some upgrades at that time and had some MAJOR issues with staying up.  I'd imagine they are through those errors, and before that they were really good.

Subversion was pretty easy to set up though and has been working great for me ever since.
