I'm receiving the following error when I'm trying to install DNN 4.3.7.  Any help is appreciated.  I suspect its the web.config file...please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Here is my web.config file.  I'm using SQL Server 2000.

<connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
     -->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005-->
      <add
          name="SiteSqlServer"
          connectionString="Server=Nightcrawler;Database=Overbored;uid=myuser;pwd=mypassword;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

    </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
    <!--add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/-->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules-->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=Nightcrawler;Database=Overbored;uid=RAINDLA;pwd=mypassword; Trusted_Connection=False; connect timeout=20000"/>

Well, I notice that you are using two different uid's

<connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005-->
      <add
          name="SiteSqlServer"
          connectionString="Server=Nightcrawler;Database=Overbored;uid=myuser;pwd=mypassword;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=Nightcrawler;Database=Overbored;uid=RAINDLA;pwd=mypassword; Trusted_Connection=False; connect timeout=20000"/>

Hope it helps.

Thanks, however, I just changed that in the dotnetnuke editor so to not show my username and password.  I mustve forgotten to change the second user name.  The issue still exists.

I've also tried to run the Microsoft.NET utility aspnet_regsql.exe command from my local box and entered in the remote server (Nightcrawler) and sql user name and password; however, I receive the same timeout error, so it may not be DNN at all.  If I'm running the .NET framework 2.0 on my local machine and the .NET framework 1.1 on my database server would that make any difference?  The database is on the same network hooked up wirelessly through a NETGEAR router.

I had this same setup 3 months ago when I was running .NET 1.1 on the same boxes.  Also, I have SQL Sever 2000 client installed on my local box and can connect to my database server through enterprise manager.

Thanks

Amit
