Echo, you suggest recompiling.  Forgive my ignorance, but all I was doing was editing the register.aspx.vb file through a text editor.  It can't be done that way?  If not, how do you recompile it?

I added the Imports statement like you suggested....still no go.  So all this code looks OK, even the stored procedure name?

Dim sConnStr As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("data").ConnectionString
Dim cnBKTest As New SqlConnection(sConnStr)
Dim cmdTest As New SqlCommand("DotNetNuke.dbo.aspnet_Membership_CreateUser_Email", cnBKTest)

cmdTest.CommandType = Data.CommandType.StoredProcedure

'Create Parameters
cmdTest.Parameters.Add(New SqlParameter("@UserName", Data.SqlDbType.VarChar, 10))
cmdTest.Parameters("@UserName").Value = userControl.UserName
cmdTest.Parameters.Add(New SqlParameter("@Password", Data.SqlDbType.VarChar, 10))
cmdTest.Parameters("@Password").Value = userControl.Password

cnBKTest.Open()
cmdTest.ExecuteNonQuery()
cnBKTest.Close()

You would have to rebuild the solution in VisualStudio. You could type anything you wanted in that file and it wouldn't make a difference if it is not compiled. I would look at the tutorials here on setting up a development evironment for the source code..

When you get to that point, you can edit the register.aspx.vb file in VS and rebuild the solution and test it out. When everything works, overwrite your dotnetnuke.dll file on your host server with the one you recompiled.

Also, try replacing the code I mentioned before with:

DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider.Instance().ExecuteNonQuery("StoredProcName", parameter1", "parameter2")

OK...sounds like I have some work ahead of me then.  I'll try all those things and see what the result is.

Thanks for being so patient with me!

NP.

We all have to start somewhere. I didn't become a programmer until I started messing with DNN.
