Hi all,

I managed to install DotNetNuke a week or so ago but today I accidentally deletd the virtual directory. I re-created the virtual directory but when I try to access DotNetNuke it does not work. Does this mean that I have lost all the changes that I have made to dotnetnuke? If no, how can I get dotnetnuke up and running again?

Cheers

I have re-installed IIS server and recreated the virtual directory. When I write localhost/dotnetnuke/default.aspx on the browser the error below appears.

Failed to access IIS metabase.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironmentException: Failed to access IIS metabase.

The process account used to run ASP.NET must have read access to the IIS metabase (e.g. IIS://servername/W3SVC). For information on modifying metabase permissions, please see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904.

By re-installing IIS and ASP.net 2.0 the problem was solved.

Thanks,

P.S I really hate the idea of moderated forums as it takes ages (days)to get an answer back from someone. I really have to say that this forum is one of the poorest forums that I have ever used.

Thanks to all anyway.
