Greetings,

I have read about several suggestions of 3rd party software to have dynamic content for multi-languages websites: Locopon's DSLocalizator & MMLinks, Apollo's MLLanguageSelector & PageLocalization, Portalfabrik's Magic Content. And of course, there is the possibility of a homemade solution.

I was just wondering if there are plans by the core team to implement an official way to do dynamic localization in the near future.

The reason I ask is to simplify migration of the multi-langues website to whatever way is envisionned by the core team. Simply said, I'm looking for the current solution that will be easiest to migrate later.

But maybe there is no plans to implement an official way to do dynamic localization since there are already 3rd party solutions out there now?

If there is a current solution being implemented by the core team, I'd like to know if there is a target date so I know if it's better for me to start using a 3rd party solution or to wait a short while for the official implementation.

Itt all seems like yesterday... DNN being an idea now you guys have brought it up into something that is changing the way a lot of people do business. It has fueled my interest in developing aplications so that I can make back a contribution at the community that helped me out start a new line of business and it is going awesomely well. 

This being said i am one of many community members waiting for the magic moment were localization wont be a sticky note on the core team agenda!!!! I know were a group... Disorganized but where here. It has taking me two years of patience... of waiting... and nothing. Localizations is bulky, complicated and because its not standard its imposible to have a complicated site with different modules because of different vendor opinions on that subject which make it a nighmare... specially on module developers who cant or wont sell theyre source code. I have sites that or so complex that mostly are spanglish or swenglish versions. This is not elegant or the most eficient way of dealing with the data.

I will not mention the nighmare that is migrating the site to a newer version with all the hacks you have to undergo to push it as a multilanguage portal. I call upon other community members that have been waiting... to speak up because that has been the problem, we have been calm and other features or enhancements have taken first place in line for this already waiting and much needed upgrade that is needed.

I will thank the core members if they analize this feature as something that will very well round and finish this product. Website, Portals every web aplication is designed with universal boundaries in mind, liberating the application from the os so its available, customizable, but the language keeps limiting that costumization aspect of this software. Think about it.

I totally agree.  We are about to hit the wall with this as we internationalize our corporate site.  We need our whole site translated into 5+ languages over the next few weeks.  I'm not about to touch the core so I don't have many options.  I would gladly pay more a solid module - where are the entrepreneurs?
