Does anyone else see a need for access to SkinPath from a skin object or am I just looking at things incorrectly?

It's a common technique
<%=skinpath%> in you skin file will be replaced by the path to the current skin if proceesed by DNN

It will render something like this:
portals/_default/skins/myskin/

So a link to an image could be
<img src="<%=skinpath%>myimage.gif" alt="myimage" />

This can be done from a SkinObject? I know you can do it from a skin, but I am not able to use it when creating a SkinObject...

The user controls for SkinObjects do not reside in the same path as the skin, so getting to the SkinPath from a SkinObject is not as straightforward as just specifying the property.

To get the current skin's path you could use code to iterate up the control heirarchy to find the skin control that contains the skin object and then use that control's SkinPath property.

Are you doing this in the code for your own custom skin object or are you trying to use this path as a property on a skin object?
