I'm not an expert on it but I'm not positive and all I can do is go from my experience.  Try this.... what happens when you ping www.davidummel.com from your home network or even on the server itself? Does it resolve to an external IP address or an internal IP address?

What happened to me on my home 2003 network when I first tried to go to my sites is that it wouldn't resolve to any IP address. I can't remember what exactly it said as it's been a couple of years but as soon as I setup DNS on my home network and set up an alias that pointed to the webserver I had no problems internally after that.
