Hi,

I have a DNN Version 4 portal? My question is... can I add another parent portal while running as a File System or does this only work if I make it an IIS Portal?

When I add new portal I get a page not found error message returned.

Thanks for your help!

you can add as many parent portals as you like (ok, at latest after a few thousands, I recommend to use a second installation). you add the required server address (e.g. www.my-portal.com) as portal alias to each portal, besides you need to make sure in your name server and IIS, that all these addresses point to the root of your DNN installation.

How do you make sure IIS is pointed to the root of your DNN installation for each new portal?

In your name server, all the domain server addresses need to point to the specific IP address of your IIS, and in IIS you need to assign the IP with the web server (or split up between Web sites using Host header values).
