Hopefully I can accurately describe my question and situation..

I have created a custom container. The top of the container is blue and the body for the content is white.  I noticed for example, if you go to the site settings page in your portal, the words "Site Settings" and right below that "Basic Settings" are using the .Head tag from the CSS. This is a problem because on my container I would have .head set to be white.  This sets the title “Site Settings” to white and the titles in the container (i.e. "Basic Settings", “Appearance”, “Advanced Settings” etc.) to white also-- making them unreadable.  Is there anyway to change the colors of those and make them independent of one another so that the titles inside the container can be black?

Yes, put a div around you container and give this (or an already exisiting table/div) an id

<div id="mycontainer">
    you container
</div>

Now you can set the color for the container head like this

#mycontainer .head
    {
    color:#000000;
    }
