This module can use categories but, where can i manage categories ?

You can manage categories from the Host->Lists page in DNN.  Create a list called "Document Categories", then add entries to the list & they will appear in the drop-down list in the documents module.

I have not been able to create sub categories within the Lists module.  Am I missing something?

Does this mean that sub categories are not possible within the core Documents module?

The host->Lists component of DNN allows only a single level of items rather than a "tree" with sub-items, etc.  Is that what you mean?

Yes, that is what I meant.  The documents module has a lot of features that we like that we can't find in 3rd party modules, but what we can't figure out is how to seperate content within a single documents module.  We started out using DMX lite, which we were happy with, but it didn't allow any sorting other than alphabetically.  Here is the structure we are trying to recreate:

So I guess what I am asking is if there is any way to mimic this tree structure?
